    As with other countries, the nautical miles ( km) exclusive economic zone (EEZ) off the coast of the United States gives its fishing industry special fishing rights. It covers million square kilometres ( million sq mi), which is the largest zone in the world, exceeding the land area of the United area: 11,, km² (4,, sq mi).   Fisheries of the United States, published each fall, has been produced in its various forms for more than years. It is the NOAA Fisheries yearbook of fishery statistics for the United States. It provides a snapshot of data, primarily at the national level, on U.S. recreational catch and commercial fisheries landings and value.
